High end digital SLR cameras to shoot video, which compares them to HD camcorders

It was recently announced during the last few weeks that Nikon will be manufacturing the Nikon D90 - which is a digital still camera which can also shoot high definition digital video.

Given that the Nikon D90 is an DSLR camera that comes with access to the full range of Nikon features and lenses, this means, potentially, that very high photo quality and images can be achieved. Motion JPG is has  less artifacts than HDV, 720p tends to be a great HD format to work with. You can find examples and phototage of the movies shot on Nikon's website, allowing you to compare DSLR camera quality to a video recorder. For under $1500 with a lens, it is a good deal and great buy.  There are rumors that Canon will be coming out with there own model.
