DSLR Cameras News
China's digital SLR camera sales during 2007 surged over 30% to reach 8.3 million sets in 2007. This is according to the estimates of CCID Consulting, which is a leading market consultant.
To show the growth...Stats showed that 5.9 million sets of digital cameras were sold in the first three quarters of the year. The sales in the last quarter (4th qtr) which was the best for DSLRs, it was estimated at 2.4 million sets, so that is a 9.6 million annual pace.
Compare this to DSLR. The sale of digital single lens DSLR cameras was over 300,000s, up a staggering 47.6 percent. The two Japanese brands, of Nikon and Canon continue to monopolizing the DSLR market.
The forecast that sales of digital cameras in 2008 would top 10 million seems conservative. It is said that DSLRs will not become a mainstream product in the next few years, because the price is still too high, but we shall see.
